Plan and Prepare.

Posted on December 31, 2008 by dami | No Comments

In less than 36 hours, 2008 will be gone forever.
Yea, forever. There will never be another year 2008.There’s nothing we can do about that but the good news is that we have the privilege of stepping into a brand new year-2009.
We have 365 precious days ahead of us.
My question to you is what do you PLAN to do with yours?
Have you written out your GOALS for the next one year?

How PREPARED are you for the new year.

You know how it is.The year starts and before you know it, january slips by so quickly, you wonder what you achieved. If you will accomplish your goals in 2009, the first thing you must do is to write them out.You can’t achieve your dreams if you have no dreams.

You have heard it too many times-if you fail to prepare, then you prepare to fail.

Often times, your preparation determines how good your performance will be.One wise man put it this way-

Prayerful

Preparation

Prevents

Poor

Performance.

Every great performer is a great planner.

Every great achiever is a great planner.

Great works are product of great planning.

Architects draw up plans before significant buildings are built.

Geologists and Archaeologists come up with plans before splitting up rocks exploring theearth’s reservoirs and resources.

Professional Sportmen sketch their game plans before playing matches or running races.

Impressive orators meticulously plan their speeches before inspiring audiences to champion a cause with their stunning eloquence.

Even God plans. With Him, nothing just happens. He has a plan for your life

Find out His plan for you and make it your plan.

When you make God’s plan your plan, it’s a sign that you agree with Him.

There are lot of great things in store for you in 2009 but you have to plan ahead.

If you haven’t done that yet, i advise you to because you can’t hit a target you don’t have.

I once put up a post related to this. You can read it here.

Get to work now.

I have several goals for 2009 but I’d share a few.

One of them is to inspire at least 10 000 people through this blog and dreamersforum by december 2009.I know that with your cooperation, we’d make it happen.

Another is to give out my e-books to at least 9000 people by december 2009.Watch out for the details because you should be one of the first beneficiaries.

I’d tell you some others as the days go by but if you don’t mind, i’d like you to tell us some of your goals.
You can start by telling us some of your goals.

Merry Christmas!

It’s another christmas.
Thank God for His gift of life through the birth of His Son Jesus Christ.

Whe Jesus was born, a star arose from the east and wise men used the star to locate him.
I pray that your star will shine so brightly that the most respected men of your generation will locate you and bring their treasures to you.

As we celebrate, may His joy flood your life.

Enjoy the season.

Try Again.

If you are a real dreamer, you would have achieved some things this year.

If you are real dreamer, you would have also had a fair share of delays, disappointments and perhaps detours.

There were some things on your to-do list that you haven’t checked off yet.You have some pending projects, unfulfilled dreams. You know what I’m talking about.

You thought you would be married by now.

You thought you would have completed the building by now.

You thought you would have sealed that deal by now.

You thought you would be a graduate by now.

You thought you would have started that business  by now.

You thought your debtors would have paid you by now.

You thught you would have paid all your debt by now.

You thought your ministry would have grown by now.

But…

You were disappointed, delayed and you are about to conclude that you have been denied.

I know how you feel and I just want you to understand that it is not over yet.If God created the entire  universe in six days then He can empower you to accomplish your goals within the last seven days of this year.

A lot can still happen but you have to try again.

That old proverb comes in handy, “If at first you don’t succeeed, try again!”

Don’t get bitter, get better.See every disappointment as the initiation of another appointment.See every setback as a setup for a comeback.See delay as opportunity to refine yourself and perfect your craft.

Remember that life is in stages and men are in sizes.Make up your mind to grow bigger at every stage.Get better.Grow stronger. You remember that when you were a kid, you didn’t start walking the first day you tried. You learnt how to stand first. The you learn’t how to stand without holding on to anything or anyone. Then you tried to take your first step. You fell several times yet you tried again.Eventually, after several weeks or months you were walking by yourself, then you started to run.

if you didn’t give up[ as a child, then you cannot afford to give up now.

Try again.

Make friends again.

Make that call again.

Submit that proposal again.

Build that business again.

Go for it again.

If you don’t go, you’ll never know.So do it again and one day, you will have a lot to gain.

How well have I done this year?

Posted on December 21, 2008 by dami | No Comments

King Solomon of ancient Israel said “To everything there is a season,A time for every purpose under heaven:”(Eccl.3:1).The wise king couldn’t have said it better. There is a time for everything. The more perceptive amongst us would agree that December isn’t just a month of celebration, it is a month aof contemplation.Yes, we shall rejoice and be excited about the festivities and parties but we must also take out ample time to reflect. We must take stock. We must ask questions. We must assess ourselves.

In school, we had to take tests and assessments regularly. It was part of our calender. The same is true for our lives.Assessments form a very crucial part of our lives.Without assesments, we wouldn’t know how well we are doing;we wouldn’t know where we stand and how can we know what to seek for if we have no idea of what it is we lack?

We cannot increase our efficiency until we identify our deficiency.

It is imperative that you ask some serious questions.

Ask yourself…

How well did I spend my time this year?

Did I treat people well this year?

Was I faithful to my spouse?

Did I take good care of my house?

Did I give my best on the job or was I the proverbial thorn in my Boss”flesh.

Did I work to make money or did I work to make a difference?

How well did I do financially?

Did I get deeper in God or did I just play church?

The list is endless.I’m sure you understand my point.

When you take assessment, then you can make neccesary adjustments. With that, you’d be better positioned to maximise the possibiliyies of the new year.

I wish you the best.

Ooops…I almost forgot…Merry Christmas and happy new year!
