Yesterday, the world witnessed one of the most historic events ever-the Inauguration of America’s first Black President, Barack Obama! This epoch-making event was watched by hundreds of millions of people all over the world.

In the midst of the glitz and glamour, I was struck by a question?
It’s the same question I am asking you now-”When is your inauguration?”

Before you answer that question, I consider it important to define the word “inauguration”

it is “the act of starting a new operation or practice”

OR

“the ceremonial induction into a position”

I’d keep this post in the context of the first definition.
When are you going to start that new operation or practice?

When are you going to take that new turn?

When are you going to finally do what you have always wanted to do to positively influence your generation?

We are not all going to enjoy the applause of millions of people like Barack Obama did yesterday but may be if we take the right steps and make the right moves now, one “day”, the angels in their trillions (or is it quadrillions) will stand at attention on the pearly shores of heaven to salute our exploits as God says “welcome, good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Master.”

I’m so excited.

I’m sure you know why.

You sure can tell from the title of this post.

My first book is ready to be released to the public.

It’s been a long time coming and it’s a dream come true.

As a child, I nursed the dream of being an author.

I have always desired to empower people through books.I love books.I read books because I believe that readers are leaders.I have learnt a great deal through books.A part of my money is invested in books.Reading is a great way of learning from other people’s experiences and benefitting from their knowledge and ideas.

Through books we discover better ways of getting results and developing people.I also realise that people read because some people write. There will be no material to read if there is no one to write.

This, apart from my flair for writing informed my decision to be an author.

I remember that I wrote my first book before I became a teenager. It was a book of short stories and I remember it had some graphical illustrations (I had time to draw and paint back then.)Unfortunately, i lost that manuscript, i believe someone stole it.

Well, that was over a decade ago.

I’m in my twenties now.I have learnt a lot more and gained more wisdom.I have a lot more to offer than I did a decade ago and I thank God for the opportunity to empower my generation through this medium.

I look forward to January 29, 2009.That’s the day “JUST DO IT!” will be released to the public and the good news is that you can be a part of it.All you have to do is stay tuned for more information.

Did I hear you say “congrats, Dami!”?

Thanks, my friend.

I am in a hurry but this thought just dropped in my heart and I decided to let it out-you are a bag of seeds, be careful where you sow yourself.Be careful where you go.Treat yourself with the donsciousness that you have what it takes to create the future you desire.

I’d shed more light on this soon.So stay close to this blog.

Cheers.

I need more power.

So do you.

I don’t mean “so, do you?”

I mean “so do you.”

I know you need more power too but since I am the one writing this post, let me talk to you about why I need more power.

I have a lot of goals for this year. That also means I have a lot of work to do and that means I need a lot of power. You may define power as the ability to do work.Without power, you can’t accomplish much.Without power, you can’t go too far.

The more powerful you are, the more you can produce.

The more powerful you are , the better you can perform.

I have a burning desire to produce a lot more and perform a lot better in everything I do this year, that explains why I need power so desperately at this time.

I also understand that if you desire the extraordinary, you must do the unusual. So, I have decided to spend the next couple of days with my team at a secret location drawing more strength through prayer and meditation on God’s word.I look forward to it because I know I will return loaded with more power.

If you have a a lot of things to accomplish this year, I suggest you take out time regularly to seek God’s face, no matter how busy your schedule is.He is the source of all strength and the fountain of power. The closer you are to Him, the more powerful you’ll become. The more powerful you are, the more you’ll produce and the better you’ll perform.

I’d talk to you soon.

Meanwhile, have a great time.

2009 secrets to a great 2009? part 2

Posted on January 12, 2009 by | 5 Comments

I promised to share more secrets with you.I’m really sorry this post is coming a little later than you anticipated.

So here you go.

Change your belief system.

The level of thinking that has brought you this far may not be good enough for your next level.

Your expectations for 2009 should be higher than those of 2008.You may say “but I was disappointed last year because my expectations were too high.” You might even be tempted to conclude like some others have that “blessed are they who have low expectations for they shall not be disappointed.”

Don’t fall into that trap.

Be Nice.

Someone once said “kindness is a fruit of the spirit not niceness.”Your guess is as good as mine-that statement is often used as an excuse for self-centredness.Don’t make it one of your favorite quotes this year.Go out of your way to do stuff for people. Now, I don’t mean you should that all the time(I don’t do that all the time but I try), but do it often till it becomes natural so that when next someone says “thanks a lot” you’d  say “it’s a pleasure” and not “it’s a pressure!”

Read at least one book every month.

Readers are Leaders. To be successful in life, you must have a deep thirst for kowledge. To be effective this  year you must read. You must read people, situations and books.A book gives you an opportunity to learn what the author knows without necessarily going through the pain and heartache he/she went through to learn those things.

Browse the internet regularly.

This is 2009 not 1999 and if you are far from the internet, you’d be stuck with some really old ways of thinking and obsolete strategies. There’s so much informaton on the internet. There are great sites that provide information on a pluralty of subjects-from personal and professional development to internet marketing and wealth creation. Take advantage of such sites. Most of them are free.Don’t watch the world pass you by.

Work like you’ll only live once on this earth.

This year, work like you’ll only live once because you’ll only live once on this earth.

You have so much in you but the only way you’d ever realise your true potential is to work on and with your gifts.Work is an opportunity to express your worth.Don’t despise work this year, embrace it.Enjoy it.

watch out for some more.
