I was too tired to add the list of books I just got in the last post.

So here it is…

“Don’t Throw Away Your Future” by Robert Schuller

He talks about how you can live God’s dreams for your life.

“The Accidental Leader” by Harvey Robbins and Michael Finley

They tell you what to do when you’re suddenly in charge.

“Healed Without Scars” by David G. Evans

He shows you the path to wholeness in Christ.

“A Common Sense Guide T o Fasting ” by Kenneth E. Hagin

He addresses the issue of fasting from a very objective perspective.

“Entrepreneur” by Alex McMillan

“Motivator” by Frances Coombes

“Essential Managers Collection” by DK

This collection contains six management masterpieces that every one who intend to excel in relating with  people and executing projects must read.

The next time you are in a bookshop, look out for these books and if you can, buy them.I’m sure you won’t regret it.

Don’t Throw Away Your Future.

Books are the bees which carry the quickening pollen from one to another mind.

~James Russell Lowell

Over the last week, I have talked so much about the importance of getting the right information.

It cannot be overemphasized.

Your future largely depends on what you are doing right now.

The future is essentially a harvest of the seeds of the present.

Unfortunately, there are many people who do not realize that so they end up “throwing away their future”

They are more concerned about filling their wardrobes with nice clothes than they are about filling their minds with choice information.

They are more concerned about filling their stomachs with dainty meals than  they are about filling their minds with life-changing truths.

They are more concerned about filling their car garages with luxury cars than they are about filling their minds with knowledge.

Do yourself a favor.

Stand out from the crowd.

Be different.

Invest in some good material.

Let Benjamin Franklin’s words inspire you.

“If a man empties his purse into his head, no one can take it from him”

Don’t be afraid to empty your pocket so you can fill your head because when you fill your head, you will easily fill your pocket. You’d agree that people are paid a lot more for what they know than how they look.I mean no disrespect but the wealthiest and most influential people are not necessarily the most appealing people.

Clothes may fade.Food will be egested.Cars may break down but the truth you know will make you free and cause you to shine.

Remember that the seeds you sow in your mind now will produce a great harvest in your future.

A few days ago, I invested in a number of books. It was unpreceedented.

Books were not on my budget for the week but I’m glad I bought them.

These are the titles…

I’m so sorry…I’m so sleepy right now…I’d give you the titles in another post so I don’t type gibberish.

Jim Rohn is one of the world’s most respected personal development coaches. In this short but inspiring video, he shares a very vital key.The video is so funny, you have to be cautious to not miss the point.Enjoy…

Guess Who Was On TV…

Posted on May 15, 2009 by dami | 2 Comments

I received this text message on wednesday evening…

“wad up ur interview is coming up at 5:30pm today u can watch it on NTA on dstv”

Then it occured to me that it was about an interview I had granted a while ago.

Prior to the interview, I got a call from one of the producers commending me on “stuff” I was doing to inspire people and asking if I would be available for an interview.Thankfully, I had the privilege of speaking at an event in Abuja shortly after that and I granted the interview.

The questions, the anchor fielded revolved around youth empowerment and personal development.

I highlighted a couple of things but there were three major things I emphasized…

PURPOSE

Myles Munroe says “when purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable.”

Many people abuse their time, bodies and other people because they have no sense of purpose in life.

POTENTIAL

You will starve, if you don’t know what you have.

Your potential is connected to your identity. You must know who you are for you to identify what you have.

You can only become useful to your generation when you realise, develop and begin to deploy your potential.

PARTNERSHIP

The people you roll with determine where you will roll to.

Your life is a reflection of the five closest people to you.

The people you allow into your life will ultimately influence your heart. If you accept their opinions, you will ultimately emulate their lifestyles.

Enough said.

I’m sure these words were and are a blessing to some people.

Are You G.I.F.T.E.D?

I had the privilege of ministering at the chapel of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital on sunday.

It was a wonderful experience, I must confess. It was nice seeing a few folks I hadn’t seen in a while.

I enjoyed the warmth and hospitality of everyone I came in contact with but what gladdens my heart the most is the fact that God counted a little boy like me worthy of being a  blessing to so many people including professors, doctors, specialists, future leaders and other VIPs.

I started by announcing that one of our greatest needs as a nation is the fear of God.

I talked about the importance of fearing God and highlighted some qualities of a God-fearing person.

I gave an acronym…G.I.F.T.

That simply stands for Godliness, Insight, Faithfulness, Truthfulness

I want to add two more attributes of a God-fearing person.

Endurance

Discipline

So you understand what I mean when I say “Are you G.I.F.T.E.D?

You would agree that these are virtues and values that we must all cultivate and exhibit consciously.

I’m not perfect, neither are you .

I’m a project in progress, so are you…and everyday is an opportunity for us to grow in God’s grace.

Today is a good day to start making a conscious effort to grow in godliness, insight, faithfulness, truthfulness, endurance and discipline.

Commit yourself and when next you are tempted to act out of character, remind yourself that you are G.I.F.T.E.D.

You are a gift to our generation.
