I Wish You A Highly Productive Month.

Posted on September 1, 2010 by dami | 2 Comments

It’s September 2010.
What a wonder.

Thank God for His protection and provision over the first eight months of the year.

Look forward to His blessings and overflowing goodness though the remaining four months.

I am sure you are highly expectant and it’s my prayer and desire that you have a highly productive month.

That’s why I have decided to give you a special gift. It’s a PowerPoint presentation titled “CHANGE THAT WE CAN BELIEVE IN”

I originally prepared it as a visual aid for my presentation at THE COLLOQUIUM, An International Youth Day Leadership Conference but I am giving it to you free of charge because I know it will provoke your thoughts and help you become more productive this month.

You can download it by clicking here…

Don’t Take Cover…Take Over!

Posted on August 31, 2010 by dami | 10 Comments

Life is a battle for territory.

We are all trying to occupy one territory or the other.

Darkness will occupy any region that is not suffused with light.

Fat will occupy body that is not toned or exercised.

Evil thoughts will occupy a mind that is not filled with godly thoughts.

Weeds will occupy a farm that is not cultivated by the farmer.

Whenever you do not pay ample attention to that which belongs to you, it will be taken over by something else.

If you do not discipline your mind to embrace only pure thoughts, you will soon be entertaining ungodly ideas and evil desires. It’s that simple.

I understand that it is challenging to stand your ground and maintain certain standards especially when everyone around you is munching the cookie of compromise but  my challenge to you is to stand out and take over your territory no matter what.

There are five responses to trouble and threats.

Every one alive responds to trouble in one of these five ways:

1.Some TAKE OFF…

Most people run when faced with a difficult situation.

They would back off in a hurry when storms toss and billows roll.

Some take off from their matrimonial homes at the first sign of financial inadequacy.Others drop out of school after flunking one or two exams.

Unfortunate, you’d agree.

2.Some TAKE HEART…

Those who take heart are skillful at consoling themselves. They throw pity-parties as often as they can. Some go as far as saying things like “What can I do?”…”Nobody likes me”.They feel so sorry for themselves.

For them, life is a string of sad stories.

3.Some TAKE SIDES…

The people who take sides are concerned with denominational differences and racial lines.Gender, cultural backgrounds, political affiliations and skin color dominate their discussions. They are more concerned about associations than transformation.

They introduce divisions and consequently decay.

4.Some TAKE COVER…

Those who take cover remind me of the ostrich. The ostrich often buries its head in the sand when confronted by an enemy. It is its way of responding to attack. It assumes that it can’t be seen by the enemy since it does not see the enemy. That’s preposterous.

There are many people who would rather be insignificant in the face of trouble.

They are docile .They are cowardly. They prefer bury their heads in the sand like the proverbial ostrich. They fail to confront therefore, they fail to conquer.

5.Winners TAKE OVER.

This is the ideal response.

We are human and we err time and again.

At different times in our lives, we have responded to threats by taking off, taking heart, taking sides and taking cover but our ideal response to a challenge is to TAKE OVER.

To take over means to be in control-first of your faculties, then of the situation posing a threat in your life.It means to take charge and take care of things.

It also means to invade, occupy and dominate. It’s not God’s intention for us to dominate others but it is His will for us to dominate our environment and make the most of the resources at our disposal.

I encourage you to change the gears in your mind so that when next you are faced with a difficult situation, you will not take off, take heart, take sides or take cover but you will TAKE OVER!

Catch Me At One Of These FREE Events!

Posted on August 25, 2010 by dami | No Comments

After speaking at METATHESIS, in the morning session on Friday August 27, I’d zoom off to Ibadan for THE COLLOQUIUM.I’d be speaking on the subject, “CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN”

After speaking at THE COLLOQUIUM, I’d rush back to Lagos to speak at the evening session at TREM Headquarters at Obanikoro.

The next morning, I’d be at the 100 PERCENT LEADER holding at the AFE BABALOLA Hall, University of Lagos.

I am not one of the main speakers but I shall be there to share A FANTASTIC BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY that is changing the lives of so many people for the better-one of the best business ventures I have ever  been involved in.

Later on saturday afternoon, I’d be on a TALK SHOW with Chaz B and Yaw.

It’s been organized by THE YOUNG EXECUTIVES, the Teens Church of House On The Rock.

At night, I’d be speaking at the Grace Evangel Mission at Okota.

Please try to be at one or two of these events.

More importantly, keep me in your prayers.

Ask God to grant me wisdom and favor and to cause the words that come out of my mouth to cause lasting positive change in the lives of those who hear them live or via electronic media.

I expect to see you at one of these events…and thanks for your prayers.

Watch Me On MNET!

Posted on August 25, 2010 by dami | No Comments

Just want you to know that I was featured alongside a few other bright minds on Africa’s first syndicated talkshow, “MOMENTS WITH MO” yesterday(Tuesday) at 9:30 pm on MNET.

If you missed it, that’s ok.
There would be a repeat broadcast by 2:30pm today (Wednesday, August 25)
and by 2pm on Saturday (August 28) on MNET.

The central theme is “Politics:The Brighter Side”

Politics affects everyone of us, so you don’t want to miss it.

I’d appreciate your honest feedback.

I have had the privilege of  working with thousands of young people over the last decade.

It’s been a great experience-one laced with a great measure of happy and not-so-happy moments.

I’ve had to coach, comfort and counsel.

I’ve had to touch, teach and train.

I’ve had the opportunity to reprimand, restructure and reform.

The experience is one I appreciate, cherish and I’m always willing to share.

With that in mind, it would be easy for you to appreciate the joy that filled my heart when I was invited to be one of the facilitators at a training organized by the YOUNG PEOPLE’S LEADERSHIP ACADEMY and THE INDUSTRIAL TRAINING FUND.

The event held on Saturday, August 7 at TOM ASSOCIATES, Anthony Lagos.

I shared my thoughts on the theme “Building A Sustainable Youth Ministry In The 21st Century.”

I wish I could give you the entire presentation but I have decided to put up the slides here.
