You Deserve To Know That…

Posted on September 19, 2009 by dami | 7 Comments

God loves you more than the devil hates you.

God’s love for you is overwhelming, intense, unconditional, pure, eternal.

In fact, it is indescribale, incomparable and incomprehensible.

Think for a moment.

Cast your mind back to the times when you messed up.

You remember?

You goofed.Yes.You flunked.You missed it.Face it-you messed up.

You called on God and inspite of your bloopers, He forgave you and restored you.

His love for you is not intimidated by your errors no matter how many they are.

His love is not fazed by your sins no matter how dirty they are.

All you need to do is return to Him because His arms are always wide open…waiting to embrace you.

You don’t need to be perfect before you come to Him.

In fact,  it’s because you are imperfect that you should approach Him.He is waiting to perfect you and everything that concerns you.

You deserve to know that…

no matter how much the devil hates you, the fury of his hatred can never match the passion of God’s love.

God’s love is so high, you can’t get above it.

It’s so deep, you can’t get beneath it.

It’s so wide, you can’t get around it.

It’s so full, you can’t get through it.

Run into God’s arm today.

He is waiting to hug you and he told me to tell you just that.

Watch Your Words part 2

Posted on September 4, 2009 by dami | 1 Comment

A few days ago, I wrote along these lines.

I still feel burdened to progress in this direction.

Perhaps only eternity will reveal the power unleashed by our words.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love IT shall eat its fruit” Solomon said.

That means whatever you desire is in your mouth.

Poverty and prosperity are in the power of the tongue.

Which do you choose? When you have insufficient cash and your bills are due, do you say “I’m broke” or do you say “I’m temporarily out of cash but my God shall supply all my need according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus.”

When you feel that fever coming on, do you say “I’m so sick” or do you say “My body feels kinda funny but I know that by the stripes of Jesus, I am healed.”

When you feel like you flunked the examination or the interview, do you say “I know I have failed” or do you say “I still believe that I am the head and not the tail.”

The way to change your life is to change your words.

Your life is ultimately the product of words you have spoken over the years.

if you don’t like what you seeing, change what you are saying.

Why not start practicing from today?

Thank God.

Isn’t amazing that we take God for granted so often.

We step out of our homes in the morning and return safe in the evenings and we assume that we kept ourselves safe throughout the day.

We travel by air, road, sea …and think we arrived safely because we boarded the right vehicles.

We eat different meals in restaurants, cafeteria, “buka” and conclude that we had no case of food poisoning just because we washed our hands properly or dropped by at the most hygienic eatery.

We use our computers and they don’t crash so we boast that it is because we use this antivirus and that security software.

We are promoted on the job and enjoy breakthroughs in our businesses and we grin because we think all the wonderful things we enjoy are a result of our intelligence and wit.

Hmmm…

We must always appreciate God for the good things we enjoy.

Truth be told-there are people who are smarter, faster, stronger and more discrete than us who still err and experience major mishaps.

We aren’t blessed because we are “all that”.We are blessed because of the goodness of God.

If this bruises your ego, I have no apologies.I tell you the truth, you are blessed the way you are because of the mercies of God so the next time you are tempted to boast of your string of accomplishments, watch it…give God ALL the GLORY.

Thank God.

Let that be your watchword this weekend.Thank God.

Reflect on His goodness and let Him know how grateful you are.

Thank Him…now.

Oh help me God!

Be careful what you ask for, you might just get it.

I remember how I used to ask God fro open doors and access to new levels.

The last few weeks have presented so many open doors that I am beginning to learn how to resist the temptation to satisfy everyone else at the expense of myself.

Please don’t get it twisted.I enjoy serving people.I was born to do that.

Nevertheless, every now and then, you feel the strain that comes from being ambidextrous and being in “high demand”

Just to give you a clue of what I’m talking about.

I flew in from Abuja on Monday.

Had series of engagements on Tuesday.

Had to shop for a couple of things on Wednesday.

Had to sort out some business demands on Thursday.

Travelled throgh heavy traffic to Ibadan that same Thursday.

Returned to Lagos on Friday.

Had an appointment to keep on Saturday.

Now it’s early sunday morning (few minutes past 1am now)and I am putting final preparations to the messages I’m preaching in a few hours.

I’m speaking for a friend at an early morning service then I’m off to Ibadan to stand in for a senior colleague.

I have to be back in Lagos tommorrow because I have an early morning appointment to keep on Monday morning and guess what?

I have to take off to Abuja again Tuesday evening or first flight on Wednesday to speak Wednesday evening…

What do you say?

I say “Oh help me God.

P.S.:I’m not complaining.Truth be told, a part of me actually enjoys it.

P.P.S:The blogging contest is still on.Please vote for my public speaking blog, publicspeakingmastermind.com by clicking on this link.I still believe it will rise to the top.Thanks.

This Too Shall Pass…

Posted on July 21, 2009 by dami | No Comments

You may have heard this statement before or may be you haven’t.
If you have, let me remind you…if you haven’t, let me tell you-this too shall pass.

In several passages of the Bible, you read “and it came to pass…”

Just in case you are wondering what “it” is, let me shed a little light.

“It” could be a financial crises…
“It” could be spiritual dryness…
“It” could be pressure on your job…
“It” could be indescribable pain…
“It” could be fear of the future…
“It” could be low self esteem.
Whatever “it” is, it shall pass.

God is the only permanent factor in life.
Every other thing will fade away…except it is in God.

No condition is permanent until God makes it so.

Now, don’t get this wrong-people prolong some seasons in their lives through their actions and inactions but the idea I am passing across is that anything that can be seen, that is man-made can fade and will fade away.

The same thing applies to every challenge you are going through right now.

It makes no difference how tough life seems, keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and the finisher of your faith. He’ll see you through it.

Always remember that tests precede testimonies…examination comes just before prommotion.
Every test is an opprtunity for you to show how much you have learnt.
When you go through funny phases in life, don’t let those faces faze you.

Maintain your trust in God.He never fails.

The stars may lose their shine.

The flowers may fade.

Men grow old and dies.

God’s word will never lie.

This too shall pass.
