A ray of hope…

Posted on February 11, 2010 by dami | 1 Comment

After almost 80 days of our president in absentia and our Nation in limbo, it was so refreshing to hear that Jonathan Goodluck is now the Acting President.

It feels so good to know that the driver’s seat of this vehicle called Nigeria is no longer empty.

No doubt. The skeptics have a lot to say. They always do.

What do you expect critics to do?

Criticise of course!

That’s why they are critics anyway.

Regardless of what the critics say, this is a step in the right direction.

It’s a sign that there’s still hope for our Nation.

It’s a sign that things can still work.

It’s a sign that there’s a silver lining on the dark cloud that has hitherto pervaded our socio-political clime.

We have complained for too long. Now let us take a turn.

I encourage you to pray for Mr.Jonathan Goodluck.

He needs divine wisdom and direction.Let us pray that he will find it easy to do God’s will for Nigeria while he is in that office.Let us pray for peace and prosperity.Let us also pray that his successor will build on his success.

Things have been rough for many people in our Nation but I feel the change in the atmosphere.

Let us also thank God for all those who were part of the

“ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!” rallies, Dr.(Mrs) Dora Akunyili, Prof. Wole Soyinka and all the pressure groups that refused to keep quiet.

Nigeria’s best is yet to come.

You Are A Gift To Somebody.

Posted on February 15, 2009 by dami | No Comments

You are a gift to somebody.

Have you ever thought about that?

You are a person of value. You are precious.

You are a treasure chest. You are a miracle in motion. You are a gift to somebody.

No matter how disadvantaged you feel, there is somebody around you who needs you so desperately.

Don’t be so caught up thinking about the things you don’t have that you forget the things our good Lord has blessed you with.Look out for opportunities to enrich somebody.

Always remember Mike Murdock’s words:”What you make happen for others, God will make happen for you.”

Zig Ziglar put it this way:”You will have enough of what you want if only you will help enough people get what they want”

Go out there and be what you are-a gift to somebody.

Yesterday, the world witnessed one of the most historic events ever-the Inauguration of America’s first Black President, Barack Obama! This epoch-making event was watched by hundreds of millions of people all over the world.

In the midst of the glitz and glamour, I was struck by a question?
It’s the same question I am asking you now-”When is your inauguration?”

Before you answer that question, I consider it important to define the word “inauguration”

it is “the act of starting a new operation or practice”

OR

“the ceremonial induction into a position”

I’d keep this post in the context of the first definition.
When are you going to start that new operation or practice?

When are you going to take that new turn?

When are you going to finally do what you have always wanted to do to positively influence your generation?

We are not all going to enjoy the applause of millions of people like Barack Obama did yesterday but may be if we take the right steps and make the right moves now, one “day”, the angels in their trillions (or is it quadrillions) will stand at attention on the pearly shores of heaven to salute our exploits as God says “welcome, good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Master.”

I missed my flight…twice!

Posted on April 22, 2008 by dami | No Comments

The last twenty four hours have been quite adventurous.

In just twenty four hours I have been privileged to make five new friends, address about two hundred promising people, console one fine lady, visit a couple of landmarks, spend a total of about ten hours on the road and miss my flight twice.

I think that’s a whole lot for twenty four hours.

Right now, my body is begging for a nap.

I’d give you more details over the next couple of days.
