If you haven’t read the first part, you can do that here.

Let me give you the other points Dr. Maduka shared.

  • Accept that EVERY ENTERPRISE NEEDS PROFFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT.

His words :”When we started, I and my wife made all the decisions but we later realized that we needed to hire professionals to expand our business…”

  • Forge a TEAM OF EMPLOYEES.

His words :”Don’t just get a group of people.Get able and willing people who understand your vision and help you to accomplish it.

  • Come up with a STRATEGY FOR WINNING in an unpredictable environment.

His words : “You know the government policies change almost every six months in this our country…we have to always study and come up with ways to win no matter what tthe challenges and policies are.”

  • RESIST THE TEMPTATION to show that “you  have arrived.”

His words :”…Even after I had made a lot of money, nobody knew.I kept on living a normal life.I was driving the same car, wearing the same clothes…living in the same house I was living in when I was still struggling…Avoid the social pressure to look successful…this shoe I’m wearing, I have had it for fifteen years.Isn’t it still looking good?”

When he said that, everyone erupted in laughter.

  • KEEP TRACK OF ALL THE ACTIVITIES of your organisation.

His words :” Don’t just spend without having proper records.Have the details of everything that goes out and everything that comes in.

  • GET YOUR PRODUCT into the market.

His words:” Know your customers and keep in touch with them…”

  • ANTICIPATE CHALLENGES

His words :”Problems always show up.You must prepare for them to win”

If you ask me, that’s a lot to think about. So I’d let you do just that.

Think about it.Remember, WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT, YOU BRING ABOUT.

I believe that readers are leaders.

I ensure that I read as much as I can.

I just finished reading  George S. Clason’s classic, “The Richest Man In Babylon”, and I recommend you read it if you haven’t already.

Here are some of the lessons I learnt.I’m sure you’d find them useful too.

1.Money is one of the the parameters by which earthly success is measured.

Take it or leave it, money is one of the yardsticks by which earthly success is measured.

No matter how effective in other areas of your life, if you are not financially free, you are not totally free.

King Sololmon once said “even the wisdom of the poor man is despised.”

It is important to be wise.In fact, wisdom is the principal thing. With that in mind, our wisdom should find expression in our finances and help us create the wealth we require to fulfill God’s purpose for our lives.

2.Money is not everything but it can be used to acquire things that make life more enjoyable.

People say this often “money is not everything”.I absolutely agree.

However, nobody can dispute the fact that money can be used as a tool to acquire the stuff that make life more enjoyable.I relly don’t think its a bad idea to have those stuff as long as you are not obsessed by them.

3.Money is always attracted to those who understand the simple laws which govern its acquisition.

Money is no respecter of race, stature, educational background or sex.

It’s not your looks that determine how much money you have. There are beautiful people who are broke and there are “not-so-good-looking” people who are rich.

There are tall people who are neck-deep in debt and there are short people who are prosperous.

There are professors who are as poor as the word and there are people who can’t even spell their names correctly who are unbelievably wealthy.  Riches respond to principles not to sentiments.

4.Money is governed today by the same laws which controlled it thousands of years ago.

I love the fact that wealth creation  has been demystified. I appreciate the fact that wealth creation strategies can be learned.

The principles for making money can be learned. Laws are laws. The law of gravity applied two thousand years ago and it still applies today.

Likewise the laws of weath creation. The lawsof gravity applies to both black and white, tall and short, nice and nasty.

The same is true for wealth creation strategies.

5.You can choose to make money.

I have chosen to learn those principles and  apply them.I still have a long way to go so I’m glad to start now.

I choose to share what I learn on this trip towards financial prosperity with you. I hope you come with me.

Watch out for my next post because I will share more along these lines. Do drop a line or two and let me know what you think.

Feel free to share what you are learning too and let’s see how far we can go together.

I’m so excited.

I’m sure you know why.

You sure can tell from the title of this post.

My first book is ready to be released to the public.

It’s been a long time coming and it’s a dream come true.

As a child, I nursed the dream of being an author.

I have always desired to empower people through books.I love books.I read books because I believe that readers are leaders.I have learnt a great deal through books.A part of my money is invested in books.Reading is a great way of learning from other people’s experiences and benefitting from their knowledge and ideas.

Through books we discover better ways of getting results and developing people.I also realise that people read because some people write. There will be no material to read if there is no one to write.

This, apart from my flair for writing informed my decision to be an author.

I remember that I wrote my first book before I became a teenager. It was a book of short stories and I remember it had some graphical illustrations (I had time to draw and paint back then.)Unfortunately, i lost that manuscript, i believe someone stole it.

Well, that was over a decade ago.

I’m in my twenties now.I have learnt a lot more and gained more wisdom.I have a lot more to offer than I did a decade ago and I thank God for the opportunity to empower my generation through this medium.

I look forward to January 29, 2009.That’s the day “JUST DO IT!” will be released to the public and the good news is that you can be a part of it.All you have to do is stay tuned for more information.

Did I hear you say “congrats, Dami!”?

Thanks, my friend.
